Brooklyn Historical Society engaged me to design all the materials for their 2019 Fall Gala. The deliverables included save the dates, invitation with insert, reply card, mailing and reply envelopes, event program, table numbers, escort cards, menus, and a step-and-repeat, as well as various digital assets for advertising purposes.
As the gala was honoring the hard work and dedication of two Brooklyn natives, we use hand-drawn illustrations of Brooklyn and everyday urban life juxtaposed with an elegant serif font to evoke the idea of 'finding beauty in the ordinary.' A square, gate-fold layout for the invitation gave breathing space to the typography and illustrations, creating a feel that was both modern and refined.
